"Family Plus", an ideal destination for the young and the not so young! Families travelling with young children can rely on the "Family Plus" hallmark and seal of approval to make sure their holiday in Bordeaux is a success.

Bordeaux is the first major town in France to be awarded this new seal of approval, which is recognised by the French Ministry for Tourism.

The hallmark makes it easy to see just what is on offer for families in terms of holiday destinations and family-friendly services available when they get there.

The scheme helps reconcile the differing expectations of children and their parents, by ensuring that the holiday offers what everyone in the family is looking for: special prices, special activities for children led by professional staff, special family-centred accommodation and services...
Parents and children can thus enjoy their stay in Bordeaux both together and separately: children can take part in activities designed specially for them while their parents choose something else…and then they can get together again afterwards.

On our website you will find everything that has been awarded the "Family Plus" label: accommodation, restaurants, places to visit, activities and services.

And remember: if you are travelling with very young children, the vast majority of establishments displaying the "Family Plus" sign can provide any special baby equipment you may need (travel cot, high-chair...) and you can hire push-chairs, car seats and baby back-packs in Bordeaux. So you can really travel light!

Also, don't forget to get a copy of the "Tourist Guide for Children and their Families" from the Tourist Office. It contains everything children from 1-14 years old and their families could wish to know about what Bordeaux has to offer: culture and the arts, shows, leisure activities, excursions, workshops, anniversaries, courses, trips, a diary, information, useful addresses for parents, teachers, other professionals who work with children...

Bordeaux-based Professionals: if you would like to gain the "Family Plus" seal of approval, get in touch with Laurent Hodebar at Bordeaux Town Hall (Mairie de Bordeaux), Tel : +33 (0)5 56 10 24 83
